About
Hi, I'm David Lapre.
I spent 21 years in hospitality learning what makes guests walk through the door. Now I help Triangle businesses, families and property owners show off their spaces from a perspective that gets noticed.
Lapre Sky Media is based in Clayton, so Johnston County is home turf. I travel across Raleigh, Durham and the Triangle every week. I fly a compact, sub-250 g-class aircraft with a 1-inch 50 MP camera, 4K/60 HDR video and true vertical shooting, so it's quick to deploy and great for social content.
FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot certification in progress. Every paid flight is flown under FAA Part 107 rules.

FAQ
Good questions
Are you licensed and insured?
Commercial drone work requires an FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate. David is completing his certification, and every paid flight will be flown under Part 107 with liability insurance in place. A certificate of insurance (COI) is available for venues and job sites on request.
Can you fly near RDU or other airports?
Often, yes. Many Triangle addresses sit in controlled airspace. We request FAA authorization through LAANC, which usually comes back in near real time for approved altitudes. Some locations need more lead time or can't be flown, and we'll tell you up front.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Safety comes first. If wind, rain or low visibility makes a flight unsafe, we reschedule at no charge.
How fast will I get my photos and video?
Real estate photos usually arrive within 24–48 hours. Edited video takes 3–5 business days, and rush delivery is available.
Do you fly over crowds at weddings and events?
No. FAA rules strictly limit flights over people, so we capture from the sides and above open areas, which still gives beautiful results. We coordinate launch spots with your venue and planner.
Who owns the photos and video?
You get a license to use your media for marketing, on your website, in listings, in ads and on social media. Lapre Sky Media keeps the copyright. Full buyouts are available on request.
Do you need permission from the property owner?
Yes. North Carolina law requires consent to photograph people for publication and to photograph private property, so we confirm permission before every flight.
Do you take deposits?
Weddings and events are reserved with a 50% deposit. Most other jobs are paid on delivery.
